👋 Good morning, everyone! I'm Ethan Kline, and this is #182 of Younger Colors, a newsletter that documents student life and connects the community. Let’s jump into today’s post!
📣 It’s Game Day, Wildcats!
Our Polk athletes have been working extremely hard since the start of the school year for the upcoming basketball season, and it’s finally here! Tonight our Wildcats and Wildkittens play Murray @ Home! The game starts at 6, and the Pep Club theme is Neon. Pep has worked so hard on these themes, and we’ve really got some good ones this year. Tonight I’ll be bringing the student section a megaphone of mine to use to add to the noise.
I’ve been so excited to start cheering again, and I’ve realized I probably enjoy cheering for basketball more than I do football. I love to be right in the middle of the action, I guess. Since Cross Country is over I have realized I’m getting a bit out of shape, so I’ve been weightlifting again which I am looking forward to. Anyway, go Polk!
✒ YoCo is nearly complete, you guys.
A lot of you are still uncertain what this project of mine is, but I’m going to leave you hanging until the eagle has landed. Though I’ve been tantalizing you all through our newsletter, I’ve been more than willing to share information in person, so come and see me!
I have spent over 100 hours this month completely revolunitizing the way we interact with the Younger Colors platform. Let me tell you this will be my proudest project yet because I have never been more stressed and exhausted than I have been since starting YoCo. There are so many moving pieces that go into creating something such as this. You typically have a dozens of people working toward something like this, but it is just me, myself, and a handful of volunteers. I appreciate everyone’s help on this, and I can’t wait to share YoCo with you all coming back from Thanksgiving Break.
🎶 YOCO.FM’s November Playlist is Out!
This is completely unrelated from the last segment, but a new playlist of mine is out! I love making these, and they’ve really helped me see how far my taste in music has progressed with each month. Artists featured this month are Omar Apollo, Bon Iiver, Still Woozy, and more! I definitely felt in the ‘fall flannel’ vibes coming from this mix, and I hope you all enjoy it!
