👋 Good morning, everyone! I'm Ethan Kline, and this is #159 of Younger Colors. A newsletter that documents student life and connects the community. Let’s jump into today’s post!
🪩 PCHS went Under The Sea last Friday!
✨ FBLA and Cheer sold over 100 tickets at last week’s Homecoming Dance! The event lasted from 6 until 9:30, and it took weeks of planning for those three and a half hours to go swimmingly. Saturday after work I immediately took a shower and picked up Alvard. We met up with a handful of partygoers at the Tree Farm and took some great pictures.
🎧 DJ Ethan Kline is in the house!
🎶 I spent hours looking through requests and making sure I had the perfect music for the dance. I started making my mix a month before Homecoming if that tells you anything. We had indie artists, slow songs, and plenty of line dances. Who knew Zion Greene could Footloose?
🕺 Just Dance was absolutely chaotic this year. From martial art fighting sequences to boy bands, our lineup of Just Dance songs was insane. Kaylee Wayda and I grouped up for most of them beginning with The Final Countdown which we executed perfectly… or almost perfectly. When she jumped over me the first time I knew we had it, but I was terrified when she tripped over me the second. I thought she fell on her face! Luckily, she left the battle with a huge bruise, but she is alive and well. Backstreet’s back, alright!
📹 This year’s slideshow really one-uped last year’s in quality. It took me a few weeks to gather enough media to put the video together, but the end product was worth the effort. I freaked when one of my songs auto-played after the slideshow, but we got everything worked out. I might have to step up next video with some interviews and such, but that won’t be for another few months. Check the video out right here.
🍀 I am currently in Crossville on 4-H business!
🌷 This place is so beautiful! I am meeting so many interesting people at the Clyde York 4-H Center from all over the country. This conference is unlike any other and involves 4-H’ers from Texas, Florida, Mississippi, and more! The whole South-East of the country is involved, and these four days will be a great time to learn about other states while serving the great state of Tennessee! I will have a full-length post for you all soon!

💡 How do you guys like the new format?
🖋 It’s definitely much more structured than what it was. Now that we have a full team of writers, I’ve realized how formal my writing can be, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! I love our styles, and we all have something unique to bring to Younger Colors. That’s what it’s all about, right?
Keep your head up,
